Brilliant Idea, he is writing a simple Python Interpreter in Go. There are many attempts at solving this problem. The solution that makes sense to me is to implement Python on top of Go. CPython does not handle parallelism well. PyPy takes 40 minutes to compile. Stackless on C is mostly dead and does not do the select statement correctly. GoLess is inactive, and buggy on PyPy. Just write the compiler directly on Go.
Of course hard to do that in a statically typed language.
